LG Electronics Canada, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist - Quantum Computing to join our Toronto AI Lab. As a key member of our Advanced AI organization, you will play a crucial role in pushing the boundaries of AI to build innovative product and service solutions that realize LG's global vision for a connected world.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct novel research in quantum algorithms and machine learning, with a focus on publishing at top conferences and collaborating with the external research community.
  • Take ownership of projects and build proof-of-concepts for future production and deployment purposes.
  • Research and develop advances in fault-tolerant quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, and quantum simulations.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Quantum Information, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience leading research projects and identifying research directions in academia or quantum industries.
  • Combination of industry and research experience with end-to-end quantum simulation development pipeline.
  • Recent contributions to research communities, including publishing at top-tier journals and/or presenting at top conferences within the field of quantum computing.
  • Knowledge and experience with quantum software platforms like Qiskit, or Pennylane.
  • Knowledge and experience with machine learning coding platforms like Tensor-flow, Pytorch, etc. is an asset.
