Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor, Facility Operations and Services to join our team at Green Shield Canada (GSC). As a key member of our Finance & Strategy Department, Facilities Team, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance employees, fostering staff development, and ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance employees, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for direct reports.
  • Ensure the ongoing development of the department through training, coaching, discipline, and health and safety initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service levels, department objectives, and productivity goals.
  • Manage budgets and financial resources, ensuring effective use of funds and resources.
  • Coordinate and administer service contracts, partnering with external service providers to ensure quality and timeliness of services.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities, including Windsor and surrounding area offices.
  • Project manage office and department moves, liaising with various groups and contractors.
  • Respond to off-hours calls regarding building maintenance, security, and equipment repair.
  • Identify and resolve issues, implementing creative solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and WSIB requirements for contractors.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, including leadership and management roles.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of success in team management and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and external partners.
  • Experience with procurement, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Knowledge of commercial building systems, maintenance, and preventative requirements.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications, drawings, and project management principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different sites in the Windsor area.
