About the Role

GARCHA DRYWALL LTD is seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team. As a Drywall Installer, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, taping joints, and applying successive coats of compound to create smooth surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Finishing: Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, and position and secure them to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Taping and Joint Compound: Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound, and fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Surface Preparation: Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation, and smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
  • Corner Beads and Ceiling Grids: Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners, and fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Setting: Work in commercial, residential, and various locations, and be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to bend, crouch, kneel, handle heavy loads, and stand for extended periods, and have good hand-eye coordination and judgment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in drywall installation.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
