About the Role

BDS Drywall Ltd is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in commercial and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and finish drywall sheets to ensure a smooth and even surface
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a high-quality finish
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and ensure a durable finish
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to meet project specifications
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure a stable and secure installation
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to achieve a high-quality finish
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to ensure a strong and durable bond
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation
Work Environment

You will be working in a fast-paced construction environment with a focus on quality and safety. You will be required to work at heights, bend, crouch, and kneel to install and finish drywall.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing
  • Ability to work at heights and in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Reliability and ability to work as part of a team
  • English language proficiency
  • 35 to 40 hours per week
