Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Vice-President of Sales and Distribution to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving operational efficiency, and leading a team of sales and distribution professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Profitable Sales Growth:
- Achieve sales targets by creating and implementing effective sales strategies that drive growth beyond targets.
- Partner with customers to enhance relationships, understand market trends, and resolve escalated issues.
- Access and leverage data to inform sales decisions and drive business outcomes.
- Operational Excellence:
- Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and internal policies related to managerial responsibilities.
- Support company procedures for branch operational procedures.
- Monitor and manage data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain performance standards and pursue efficiency and cost improvement opportunities.
- Accurately complete and manage time and attendance records and associated labor costs.
- Employee Performance Management & Development:
- Establish connectivity between branch goals and individual employee goals using a 1-year plan.
- Complete timely and meaningful employee evaluations in accordance with our Performance Management Program (PMP).
- Support the Out-of-Title Responsibility (OTR) process with objective evaluations and employee development plans.
- Leadership:
- Adhere to our Code of Conduct and all company policies.
- Lead by example, projecting valued behaviors in all interactions with customers, suppliers, and employees.
- Business Strategy:
- Analyze data and market intelligence to inform business decisions and drive business outcomes.
- Develop business cases and present proposals for ideas or plans beyond authority to support overall business strategy, product requests, branch locations, and other business tools.
- Educational/Experience/Skill:
- Experience in a management role, preferably in a distribution and sales setting.
- Building products experience is an asset, with a technical background.
- Financial acumen with a working knowledge of profit and loss statements.
- Post-secondary education, preferably in business or management.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, AS 400, and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills for internal and external contacts.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Behavioural/Mental/Physical Effort:
- Natural dispositions should include high dominance and highly influential, with low steadiness for ability to multitask.
- Poise under pressure in a fast-paced environment when dealing with employee and customer issues.
- Sporadic mid-stress level related to multitasking and management of escalated customer or employee situations.
- Comfortable office environment.
- Regular travel required for customer interaction and company meetings.
- No physical exertion.
- Dexterity and coordination required for computer use and vehicle operation.
- Aptitude:
- Reasoning and judgment to hold information and solve problems.
- Perceptual speed to recognize detail, including error and accuracy.
- Numeracy to handle quantitative concepts and numbers.
