Senior Manager, Audit & Risk Management
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive leader to enhance our Internal Audit division. Reporting directly to the Director of Internal Audit, this role is crucial in overseeing the daily functions of our audit operations while providing expert guidance on corporate governance and enterprise risk strategies. As a senior figure within Irving Business Services, you will serve as a vital partner for the organization and its subsidiaries.
Location: This position is based in our corporate office.
The successful candidate will possess a strong leadership background, excellent analytical abilities, and outstanding communication skills, along with a commitment to consultation and investigative analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the leadership team to formulate and implement the annual Internal Audit Strategy, conducting comprehensive assurance, forensic, and advisory engagements to enhance corporate operational efficiency.
- Advise and influence business executives on the adoption of risk management controls and procedures.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of 6-10 audit professionals, supporting their growth and performance objectives.
- Assess and refine the department's processes to improve the quality and timeliness of audit deliverables.
- Supervise the enhancement of systems and procedures aimed at identifying and reducing risks.
- Foster strong relationships with team members and senior management to promote open communication and a collaborative approach to problem-solving and risk management.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in audit or risk management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the industry.
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Professional designations such as CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) are required.
- Thorough understanding of audit principles and enterprise risk management frameworks, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven leadership skills, capable of motivating and developing a high-performing team.
- Strong diplomatic skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience in report writing and delivering presentations to senior stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with adaptability to changing environments.
- High standards of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
