Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and support engineers and operational teams in risk assessment and use of the Irving Oil Risk Matrix.
  • Facilitate discussions for the development of mitigation plans to address identified high risks.
  • Use risk assessment software to produce technical reports and record recommendations.
  • Audit risk assessment processes for compliance and identify improvements.
  • Manage various projects from conception to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of identified controls or mitigations.
  • Work effectively with Senior Leaders, Directors, and Managers to minimize risk.
Requirements
  • University degree in Safety and Risk Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 8-12 years' experience in engineering, organizational experience, and experience at a leading engineering level.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and using a risk matrix is essential.
  • PEng (Professional Engineer) designation is required.
