Senior Manager, Audit & Risk Management
We are seeking a proactive and accountable leader to enhance our Internal Audit division. Reporting directly to the Director of Internal Audit, this individual will play a pivotal role in managing daily operations while offering expert guidance on corporate governance and enterprise risk management. As a senior member of Irving Business Services' Corporate Internal Audit Team, you will serve as a crucial partner for the organization and its subsidiaries.
This position is based in our corporate office.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong leadership background, exceptional analytical and communication abilities, and a genuine enthusiasm for consultation and investigative analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the leadership team to design and implement the annual Internal Audit Plan through complex assurance, forensic, and consultative engagements aimed at enhancing corporate efficiency and effectiveness.
- Advise and influence business leaders on the establishment of risk mitigation controls and processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of 6-10 audit professionals in achieving their personal and performance objectives.
- Assess and refine the function's processes and procedures to improve the speed and quality of audit outputs.
- Oversee the creation and enhancement of systems aimed at identifying and mitigating risks.
- Foster strong relationships with team members and senior management to promote open communication and a collaborative approach to problem-solving and corporate risk management.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven expertise in audit principles and practices, with at least 7 years of experience in an audit or risk management role, including a minimum of 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Professional designations such as CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant), CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), or equivalent are required.
- Thorough understanding of audit and enterprise risk management standards and control frameworks, with the capability to plan and coordinate multiple engagements.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in report writing and delivering presentations to senior leaders.
- Strategic thinker with an adaptable mindset.
- High standards of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
