Overview

Thomas, Large & Singer Inc. (TLS) is actively seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to enhance our dynamic team. This role reports directly to the Director of Financial Reporting and is pivotal in managing various accounting responsibilities, facilitating client business operations, and spearheading process enhancements. The position is situated at our head office in Markham, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct monthly accounting reconciliations and prepare related journal entries for a designated client portfolio.
  2. Oversee various business operations for the assigned client portfolio.
  3. Analyze and investigate to resolve discrepancies at month-end.
  4. Generate reports and schedules for both client and management reporting needs.
  5. Assist with daily and weekly administrative tasks (e.g., accounts payable/receivable data entry, client payment preparations, vendor/customer invoicing).
  6. Promote process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  7. Maintain intricate spreadsheet models.
  8. Engage in ad hoc analytics, projects, and accounting duties as required.
Qualifications:
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  2. Highly motivated, self-starter with a quick learning aptitude.
  3. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  4. Capability to manage shifting priorities and timelines.
  5. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Post-secondary education in Accounting or relevant Accounting Designation (or in progress).
  7. Proficiency in Sage X3 ERP is advantageous.
  8. Experience with Trade Management tools is a plus.
  9. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods sector.
