Job Description

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will play a key role in four critical areas: period-end financial reporting, regulatory compliance and audit, treasury activities, and finance transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and accurately record monthly journal entries, provide support for quarterly close activities, and prepare income statement variance analysis.
  • Financial Process Improvement: Collaborate with business partners to investigate and resolve issues, monitor account reconciliations, and assist with investigation and resolution.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Support IFRS 17 reporting, check OSFI quarterly LIFEPRO and LIMAT files for errors and accuracy, and complete quarterly OSFI analysis for senior management.
  • Internal Audit and Control Testing: Assist with Sox testing and internal audit, partner with internal and external auditors, and provide audit support.
  • Treasury Responsibilities: Download RBC and BMG bank consolidated statements, verify and process policyholder claims, and monitor and reconcile Peoplesoft cheques and claims cheques.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of related work experience with an Accounting/Finance designation (CPA/MBA/CFA/other)
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven self-starter with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and intellectually curious
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (US STAT, US GAAP, and IFRS) is an asset
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is an asset
