Summary

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and executing strategic initiatives within the Canadian organization. Your responsibilities encompass achieving ambitious sales targets, fostering collaboration across departments, and cultivating strong relationships with clients.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities by engaging with prospective clients in your assigned market and exploring cross-selling opportunities with existing customers.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitive pricing strategies, and industry developments. Share these insights with product and management teams to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain a client lifecycle program for your key accounts, ensuring ongoing engagement and value creation.
  • Build a comprehensive understanding of your assigned account base, including their contact information, commodities/trade lanes, business type, contract details, service requirements, and potential needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare RFQs, bids, and proposals. Demonstrate a strong grasp of pricing structures and cost components associated with various solutions.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with clients, understanding their business objectives and providing tailored solutions that meet their specific requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success in a sales or business development role within the logistics or supply chain industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and experience with CargoWise is a plus.
