Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plumber and Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Everest Drain & Plumbing Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in various commercial, industrial, and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Preparation and Quotations: Prepare tenders and quotations for plumbing projects.
  • Training and Supervision: Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers on plumbing projects.
  • Pipe Work: Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
  • Joining and Testing: Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Project Management: Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment for plumbing projects. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Estimation and Measurement: Estimate costs and materials for plumbing projects. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possess Backflow Prevention Certification, Plumber Trade Certification, Working at Heights Training, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Driver's License (Class 3 or D), Plumber Red Seal Certificate, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Be bondable, have basic security clearance, and undergo a criminal record check and driving record check (abstract).
  • Transportation and Travel: Have a valid driver's license and be willing to use a vehicle supplied by the employer.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Be physically demanding, with the ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and handle heavy loads. Work under pressure and have a large workload.
  • Personal Suitability: Possess accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, judgment, and team player qualities.
Working Conditions

This position involves working in various locations, including commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The work environment may include confined spaces, wet/damp conditions, and excavation. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate for this position.
