Justice Officer

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Justice Officer to join our team at The Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our Court Services Division, you will provide administrative support to our courts, including the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, and Provincial Court.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to our courts, including receiving and responding to requests, maintaining court filing systems, and scheduling court cases.
- Receive and balance monies paid into the court, prepare daily cash reports, and bank deposits in accordance with departmental account procedures.
- Provide a broad range of administrative support services, including providing legal information to the public regarding navigating the court system, court forms, and procedures.
- Work effectively in a high-volume and complex service area, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail while dealing with difficult or distraught individuals.
- Four years of related experience, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in a legal environment, with exposure to rapidly evolving technologies and procedures.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multifaceted and stressful environment.
- Proficient and accurate keyboarding and data entry skills, with experience adapting to new technologies and procedures.
