Bilingual Claims Adjudicator

We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Claims Adjudicator to join our team. As a Claims Adjudicator, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing claims, ensuring that they are handled in a fair and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Review and process claims, including disability and critical illness claims
- Communicate with policyholders, agents, and marketing centers to gather information and resolve issues
- Make decisions on claim eligibility and communicate decisions to stakeholders
- Document claim files to ensure accurate records of events
- Maintain accurate claim records on our system to ensure accuracy of reserve calculations
- University degree in any discipline or equivalent work experience
- 2-3+ years' experience in adjudicating claims, preferably disability and critical illness
- Customer service oriented individual with negotiating skills
- Bilingual (French & English) is required
- Good working knowledge of medical conditions and terminology, as well as experience in the interpretation and application of financial documentation and fair claims practices
- Ability to respond constructively and decisively in high pressure or emotional situations
- Working knowledge of government legislation and legal precedents, the Insurance Act and/or Quebec Civil Code is an asset
- Good analytical skills to evaluate conflicting information from various key sources
