This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our team at Definity as a Claims Representative. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating and settling first-party automobile claims in a fair and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and settle first-party automobile claims in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to all customers, internal and external, in a prompt, courteous, and accurate manner.
- Manage auto telephone claims until they are resolved, ensuring that all necessary information is gathered and documented.
- Explain the claim process to customers in a clear and concise manner, ensuring that they understand their rights and responsibilities.
- Confirm whether claims are covered under a customer's policy, and ensure that all necessary documentation is obtained.
- Investigate claims thoroughly, working with customers and preferred vendors to determine the best course of action to resolve the claim.
- Maintain detailed file records, entering pertinent data into the appropriate systems.
- Process claims payments within your authority level, ensuring that all necessary documentation is obtained and processed in a timely manner.
- Initiate salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned claims, ensuring that all necessary documentation is obtained and processed in a timely manner.
- Achieve the targeted number of assigned claims per year, while living our core values and meeting competencies.
- Achieve and maintain a file disposition rate of 100% on a monthly basis.
- Minimum high school diploma required.
- Experience handling automobile claims, with a good understanding of terminology and auto policies.
- Previous customer service and call centre experience is a definite asset.
- Excellent keyboarding skills and ability to navigate through numerous screens and systems quickly and easily.
- Professional, friendly, and courteous to customers.
- Able to thrive under pressure and remain calm.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.
