About the Opportunity

The Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in supporting patients/clients to achieve their optimal level of function. Working collaboratively with clients, families, and caregivers, you will facilitate, restore, and maintain their abilities in areas such as self-care, productivity, and leisure activities.

As an Occupational Therapist, your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify patient/client needs and goals
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances
  • Providing direct therapy interventions in various settings, including hospitals, homes, and community centers
  • Educating patients/clients, families, and caregivers on strategies to enhance independence and well-being
  • Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient/client care
  • Contributing to the clinical education of Occupational Therapy students and related health disciplines

About You

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist who possesses:

  • A Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical judgment skills
  • A commitment to providing high-quality patient/client care within a collaborative environment
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
