About the Application Security & Posture Management Group:

The Application Security Group at Wealthsimple is dedicated to safeguarding applications and customer information to uphold trust. They collaborate closely with development teams to weave security practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, pinpoint and mitigate risks, and incorporate secure functionalities into products. The team's initiatives also promote a robust security culture within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop security tools and methodologies for the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Perform security evaluations and threat modeling.
  • Review source code and offer vulnerability recommendations.
  • Create attack scenarios to replicate potential threats.
  • Engage in detection engineering and remain informed on security developments.
  • Provide guidance and work collaboratively to improve product security.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrates expertise in developing applications using Ruby on Rails.
  • Can navigate codebases in various languages such as JavaScript, Python, and Java/Kotlin.
  • Recognizes and addresses challenges related to application security.
  • Exhibits an offensive security perspective and strong communication abilities.
  • Skilled in log analysis utilizing tools like SQL and SIEM.
  • Possesses effective listening and consensus-building capabilities.
