About the Application Security & Posture Management Division:

The Application Security Division at Wealthsimple is dedicated to safeguarding applications and customer information to uphold client confidence. This team collaborates closely with development units to weave security protocols throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, pinpoint and alleviate risks, and incorporate secure functionalities into products. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop security tools and methodologies for the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Perform security evaluations and threat modeling exercises.
  • Review source code and offer guidance on vulnerabilities.
  • Create attack scenarios to mimic potential threats.
  • Engage in detection engineering and remain informed on security developments.
  • Provide mentorship and collaborate to improve product security.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proficient in building applications using Ruby on Rails.
  • Skilled in navigating codebases in various languages, including JavaScript, Python, and Java/Kotlin.
  • Adept at recognizing and resolving application security issues.
  • Possesses an offensive security perspective and strong communication abilities.
  • Capable of analyzing logs with tools such as SQL and SIEM.
