Respite Care Specialist

The Respite Personal Support Worker role at Giishkaandago'Ikwe Health Services involves providing temporary care and companionship to clients in need of alternative level of care. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality care and promoting independence, dignity, and comfort in a home care setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide temporary respite care to clients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Offer companionship and social support to clients, engaging them in activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and progress, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Completion of a training program as a certified Personal Support Worker or Personal Care Attendant.
- Certification in Palliative Care for Frontline Workers, Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care (LEAP), or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license, clean driver's abstract, and insurability.
- Current updated immunization and First Aid and CPR qualifications.
- Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check.
