The Respite Personal Support Worker is a vital role in providing temporary support and care to individuals in need. As a member of our team at Giishkaandago'Ikwe Health Services, you will play a crucial part in promoting independence, dignity, and comfort for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide temporary respite care and support to clients in their homes or in our facilities.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Prepare meals and snacks, and assist with light housekeeping.
  • Provide companionship and social interaction to clients.
  • Assist with medication management and administration.
  • Document client care and progress.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a training program as a certified Personal Support Worker or Personal Care Attendant.
  • Current certification in Palliative Care for Frontline Workers, Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care (LEAP), or equivalent.
  • Current certification in Skin and Wound Care training for Unregulated Care Providers.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driver's abstract, and insurability.
  • Current updated immunization.
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check.
