Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Respite Workers. As a Respite Worker, you will provide temporary relief and support to caregivers of individuals with disabilities or special needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Provide care in home for a 15 year old boy. Respite providers are responsible for providing supervision and maintaining the safety of the child in their care. Respite providers must effectively communicate and collaborate with parents.

Child enjoys swimming, the library and going to the park. He also really enjoys music, including opera. This child communicates through sounds and gestures. He is still in pull ups and requires assistance with personal care.He is also fed through a G-tube which the parents can support with. Potential for overnight shifts, ability to host is a bonus.

Opportunity for additional clients through our company may be possible, but this child will be your primary client regardless.

**Responsibilities**:

- Transportation of client
- Offer companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients
- Accompany clients to appointments or outings as needed
- Follow care plans and strategies implemented by parents

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Drivers license (preferred)
- First aid and CPR
- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
- Clear intervention check
- Able to physically stop child from harming themselves/others if necessary
- Experience with childcare
- Experience with violent behaviours

**Benefits**:

- Vacation time accumulated at 4%
- Pay begins at $23/hr

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $24.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week

Supplemental pay types:

- Childcare: 1 year (required)
- G-tube: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Class 5 Licence (preferred)
