Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Lead to join our team at Build-A-Bear Workshop. As a Sales Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of associates to consistently model the Experience First standards and behaviors. You will also be responsible for communicating clear expectations and holding the store team and self accountable for achieving all brand, performance, and behavior standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead a Team of Associates: Lead a team of associates to consistently model the Experience First standards and behaviors.
  2. Communicate Clear Expectations: Communicate clear expectations and hold the store team and self accountable for achieving all brand, performance, and behavior standards.
  3. Energize Associates: Energize associates to ensure proper coverage, exceptional Guest service, completion of daily tasks, and adherence to company standards.
  4. Delegate Effectively: Delegate to associate team effectively.
  5. Maintain a Positive and Motivational Style: Maintain a positive and motivational style in all communication and actions to promote productivity and ownership.
  6. Drive Associate Engagement: Drive associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding employees for outstanding performance.
  7. Build a Loyal Customer Base: Build a highly satisfied and loyal customer base through engagement, conversion, and capturing Guest information for the loyalty program.
  8. Audit Daily Punches: Audit daily punches to ensure accuracy and compliance with BABW payroll and timekeeping policies and procedures.
  9. Adhere to Security and Cash Management Policies: Adhere to and enforce all BABW store security and cash management policies and procedures.
  10. Ensure Store Readiness: Ensure store is always Grand Opening ready by following opening and closing procedures.
  11. Operate and Maintain IT Systems: Operate and maintain all IT systems in accordance with policies and procedures.
  12. Use Good Judgment: Use good judgment and partner with his/her Chief Workshop Manager to make necessary decisions within the company's guidelines.
  13. Ensure Compliance: Insure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as federal, state, local, and provincial laws.
  14. Communicate Issues: Communicate any Guest service and/or associate issues to the Chief Workshop Manager in a timely fashion and collaborate on resolution of all issues.
Responsibilities as a Bear Builder
  1. Provide a Personalized Experience: Use the Make Behaviors and Experience First station standards to provide a personalized, enjoyable, and memorable experience for Guests of all ages.
  2. Invite Potential Guests: Invite potential Guests to come in and learn about our store.
  3. Welcome and Greet Guests: Promptly welcome and greet all Guests with a smile.
  4. Engage Guests in Conversation: Engage Guests in conversation through open-ended questions and assesses reason for visit. Utilizes this information to help Guests find the perfect product and convert those "just looking" into a sale.
  5. Inform Guests of Promotions: Inform Guests of all current promotions and points out our newest product.
  6. Explain the Build-A-Bear Workshop Process: Explain the Build-A-Bear Workshop process and assists Guests in choosing, stuffing, dressing, naming, and taking home (purchasing) a new furry friend.
  7. Contribute to Total Store Results: Contribute to total store results by recommending items to maximize sales and enhance the Guest's experience.
  8. Inform Guests of Party Options: Insure Guests are aware that we offer parties for all ages and all occasions.
  9. Support Party Commitments: Supports our company party commitments by delivering a great party experience.
  10. Be Aware of Sales Goals and Expectations: Is aware of workshop sales goals, Guest satisfaction expectations, and promotional objectives.
  11. Maintain Visual and Housekeeping Standards: Maintains visual and housekeeping standards to create the brand experience unique to Build-A-Bear Workshop.
  12. Follow Company Policies and Procedures: Follows all company policies and procedures including but not limited to Cash Management, Attendance, and Store Security.
  13. Perform Other Tasks: All other tasks as may be assigned by store management.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of one + years of experience providing exceptional Guest service in the workshop. The ideal candidate will be available for a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business. A minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. A college degree is a plus. The candidate should be ambitious and success-oriented, with outstanding leadership and selling skills. They should model personal and professional integrity, with excellent interpersonal communications skills, including verbal and written communication. The candidate should be organized and planful, with attention to details. They should be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment, and foster a high energy environment and demonstrate an appreciation for children of all ages.
