About the Role

As a key member of the Chartwell team, the Senior Director Labour Relations will play a critical role in providing strategic leadership and guidance on labour relations matters across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Labour Relations Strategy: Develop and implement effective labour relations strategies to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Employee Relations: Provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters, including grievances, collective bargaining, and labour disputes.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage labour relations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with senior leadership, management, and employees to build and maintain positive relationships and communicate labour relations policies and procedures.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate labour relations risks, including grievances, arbitrations, and labour disputes.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular labour relations reports and provide analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in labour relations, employee relations, or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage complex labour relations issues.
  • Industry Knowledge: Professional knowledge of the seniors housing industry, with a strong understanding of labour relations laws and regulations.
