Director of Labour Relations

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Labour Relations to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods Inc. This is a critical role that will play a key part in shaping the company's labour relations strategy and ensuring a positive and productive work environment for all employees.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in labour relations, with experience in negotiating collective agreements, managing labour disputes, and developing and implementing labour relations strategies. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, management, and union representatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement labour relations strategies to promote a positive and productive work environment
- Negotiate collective agreements with union representatives
- Manage labour disputes and grievances
- Provide advice and guidance to management on labour relations matters
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance labour relations skills
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination on labour relations issues
- 7-10 years of experience in labour relations, with a strong background in collective bargaining and labour dispute resolution
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, management, and union representatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex labour relations issues and develop effective solutions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- University degree in a related field, such as industrial relations or human resources
