Urban Development Specialist

The City of Kamloops is seeking a highly motivated and organized Urban Development Specialist to join our Planning & Development Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of our community through strategic planning and coordination.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement urban planning strategies to promote sustainable development and community growth.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address community needs and concerns.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform planning decisions and policy development.
- Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and proposals to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical assistance and support to other departments and teams as needed.
- Completion of a university degree in Urban Planning or a related field.
- Ability to acquire full membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners within five years of employment.
- Minimum of one year's experience in urban planning or a related field, including experience in technical and analytical planning roles.
- Valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 5.
