POSITION SUMMARY

As part of the Finance and Administration division, the Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive administrative support to the NTHSSA-BDR Executive Assistant. This position handles sensitive and confidential information that may affect clients, families, and employees across various departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for:

  • Delivering general administrative assistance to managers and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of administrative offices.
  • Adhering to NTHSSA By-laws, Policies, Procedures, and GNWT Legislation.
  • Maintaining accurate records and managing office duties, including familiarity with ARCS and ORCS systems.
  • Demonstrating strong writing skills and the ability to proofread documents for clarity and correctness.
  • Networking with resources within and outside the Health and Social Services Authority to support clients and their families.
  • Utilizing various software programs, including word processing and spreadsheets, while ensuring confidentiality of information.
  • Working independently and accurately managing client appointments and rescheduling as necessary.
  • Exhibiting strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Coordinating effectively with managers and health professionals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Respecting and understanding the cultural traditions of northern and Indigenous peoples.
  • Tracking and managing financial documents with precision.

QUALIFICATIONS

Typically, candidates will possess:

The equivalent of a two-year Business Administration program combined with three years of relevant administrative or accounting experience.
