Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiopharmacy Specialist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our cyclotron operations team, you will play a critical role in the production of radioisotopes and the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain the TR24 and TR19 cyclotrons, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals from commercial kits and raw materials, adhering to strict quality control procedures.
  • Assist in the use and maintenance of scientific equipment and instrumentation, including radiation and workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Develop and write Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and manage supply inventory, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless cyclotron operations and radiopharmaceutical production.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Chemical Technology, or a health sciences degree from a recognized institution.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to manipulate and carry moderately heavy lead and radioactive shielding.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electronic equipment, radiation safety, and radiation-emitting devices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
