As a pivotal member of our organization, the Safety and Compliance Advisor will oversee the implementation, enforcement, and management of our Health and Safety protocols. This role is essential in ensuring that all employees are well-informed and adhere to safety regulations, thereby fostering a secure work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee safety compliance across operational construction sites and equipment
- Conduct thorough safety assessments of project sites using established documentation and procedures
- Ensure that subcontractors comply with safety standards in alignment with company policies and regulations
- Identify potential risks and safety hazards throughout the project lifecycle, from estimation to completion
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents in accordance with the company's health and safety initiatives
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with management, project managers, and superintendents through education and practical on-site solutions
- Assist in the communication and execution of claims management and return-to-work programs
- Proactively recommend enhancements to improve safety initiatives
- Participate in the design and execution of safety training programs
- Conduct safety orientations for new employees and other necessary training sessions
- Prepare reports and maintain all required documentation
- Facilitate and attend monthly safety committee meetings as needed
- Regularly visit job sites and branches in the region, with potential travel as required.

- Formal education or training in Environmental/Occupational Health and Safety, NCSO, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a safety role within the construction sector
- Experience in the ICI construction industry, particularly with flat roofing and architectural metal products, is advantageous
- Familiarity with the COR process is a strong asset
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to Working at Heights, Fall Protection, Fire Safety, and WHMIS
- Experience in accident investigation is essential
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Presentation skills are beneficial
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- A collaborative mindset with a desire to learn
- Valid driver's license is required
Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 annually
