Position Overview

Northern Health Authority is seeking a skilled and proactive permanent full-time Coordinator to enhance the Research Evaluation and Analytics division.

In alignment with the organization's core values and vision, the Coordinator, Quality Management Clinical Research undertakes a range of specialized tasks to implement Quality Improvement initiatives in partnership with clinical trials personnel and various internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager of Clinical Research, the Coordinator is responsible for conducting thorough internal audits of clinical trials and clinical research unit teams, focusing on the preparation of detailed audit reports and engaging in discussions regarding findings with clinical research teams.

The Coordinator collaborates with senior leadership and clinical staff across the organization to effectively communicate information and represent the Clinical Research department with professionalism.

Ensuring timely data submission and the accuracy and completeness of source documentation is paramount, alongside meeting all ethical and regulatory standards. Responsibilities in data management encompass the collection, analysis, confidentiality, and quality assurance review of clinical and research data.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $74,618 to $93,273, contingent upon education, training, experience, and comparisons with similar roles.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health sciences, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting, such as research, quality improvement, or regulatory compliance.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and capacity to manage challenging assignments while collaborating with diverse individuals, policies, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in executing responsibilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in various computer software applications, including project management, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Familiarity with Health Canada regulations and research guidelines.
  • Commitment to fostering meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per Truth & Reconciliation and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
  • Understanding of the social, economic, political, and historical contexts affecting Indigenous communities, along with knowledge of Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of Health Canada Food and Drug Act, Division 5, Part C; International Committee on Harmonization Part E6 – Good Clinical Practices; and US Food and Drug Act regulations.
  • Functional understanding of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIPPA), particularly section 35.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and advanced organizational abilities to manage information and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • High proficiency with databases, MS Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and internet applications.
  • Experience with Remote Data Capture (RDC) and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems.
  • Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position.
