Clinical Research Quality Coordinator

Northern Health Authority is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Coordinator to join the Research Evaluation and Analytics team on a permanent full-time basis.
In alignment with the organization's core values and mission, the Coordinator, Quality Management Clinical Research undertakes a range of specialized tasks aimed at implementing Quality Improvement initiatives in partnership with clinical trials personnel and various stakeholders.
Reporting directly to the Regional Manager of Clinical Research, the Coordinator is responsible for conducting thorough internal audits of clinical trials and clinical research unit teams, focusing on the preparation of audit reports and engaging in discussions regarding findings with clinical research teams.
The Coordinator collaborates with senior management and clinical staff throughout the organization to effectively communicate information and represent the Clinical Research department in a professional manner.
Ensuring timely submission of data and the accuracy and completeness of source documentation is essential, along with adherence to all ethical and regulatory standards. Responsibilities related to data management encompass the collection, analysis, confidentiality, and quality assurance review of clinical and research data.
Compensation for this position will range from $74,618 to $93,273, influenced by qualifications, experience, and comparable roles.

- Certificates or diplomas from relevant programs.
- Academic transcripts from high school, college, or university.
- A cover letter and resume are also recommended.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public health or health sciences.
- At least five (5) years of recent experience in a healthcare setting, specifically in research, quality improvement, or regulatory environments.
- Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Exceptional organizational abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to manage challenging tasks and collaborate with diverse groups.
- Proven initiative and independent judgment in executing responsibilities.
- Ability to work autonomously while also being an effective team player.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in various software applications, including project management, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Familiarity with Health Canada regulations and research guidelines.
- Commitment to fostering reconciliation in Canada, in accordance with Truth & Reconciliation and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
- Understanding of the socio-economic and historical contexts affecting Indigenous communities, along with knowledge of Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism initiatives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Health Canada Food and Drug Act, Good Clinical Practices, and US Food and Drug Act regulations related to clinical trials.
- Understanding of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIPPA), particularly section 35.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in database management, MS Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and internet research.
- Experience with Remote Data Capture (RDC) and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems.
- Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
