Clinical Trials Research Associate

These positions are fully qualified working level roles. Candidates possess relevant laboratory experience and are familiar with specific research methodologies of the hiring laboratory. They operate under supervision and conduct experiments by adhering to established laboratory protocols. Reporting is directed to the Department Head, Principal Investigator, or their designate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute a range of established technical procedures in accordance with documented protocols.
  • Conduct experiments by adhering to established laboratory protocols as per written guidelines.
  • Document results, including data entry into computer systems, and provide feedback regarding procedural modifications as requested by the Department Head, Principal Investigator, or their designate.
  • Manage and store test materials, laboratory supplies, and equipment.
  • May instruct less experienced assistants on work methods or procedures as designated.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • An educational background equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Bachelor of Science) along with two (2) years of recent experience in a research laboratory setting.

Additional Skills

  • A commitment to fostering reconciliation in Canada, in alignment with the TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
  • An understanding of the social, economic, political, and historical contexts affecting Indigenous communities, along with familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism initiatives (e.g., BC DRIPA, TRC).

Salary Range: $57,347 - $75,268/year. The starting salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's relevant education and experience, in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, as operations require.
