About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Verace Italian Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and cooking of high-quality Italian dishes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new and innovative Italian recipes, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Chef Training: Train and mentor junior chefs in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Italian dishes, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork in the kitchen.
  • Kitchen Management: Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen, including inventory management, staff supervision, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of Italian dishes, including pasta, risotto, and other specialty items, to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all guests receive a warm and welcoming experience in our restaurant.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in the kitchen, and proficiency in Italian is an asset.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with a focus on attention to detail and teamwork.
  • Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks, and working under pressure are required for this role.
