Position Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Lead (CNL) plays a pivotal role in the delivery of nursing care at AVI Health and Community Services. This position collaborates closely with the Nurse Manager to enhance nursing practices and ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Leadership: The CNL provides guidance and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence in clinical practice.
  • Education and Training: Develops and implements educational programs for nursing staff, ensuring they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills in harm reduction and primary care.
  • Policy Development: Participates in the formulation of clinical policies and protocols to enhance service delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Works alongside the Nurse Manager to promote effective communication and coordination among multidisciplinary teams.
  • Client Care: Delivers direct nursing care, utilizing a trauma-informed approach to meet the complex needs of clients.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with a baccalaureate degree in Nursing and current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, particularly with individuals experiencing substance use challenges.
  • Experience in healthcare education and program development is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to harm reduction principles and social justice.

  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong advocacy skills and a commitment to person-centered care.
