Position Overview:
The Clinical Nurse Lead (CNL) plays a pivotal role in the nursing team at AVI Health and Community Services. Collaborating closely with the Nurse Manager, the CNL is tasked with the development, support, and delivery of nursing care tailored to the needs of our diverse clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence in clinical practice.
- Educational Development: Identify training needs and create educational programs to enhance the skills of nursing personnel.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the formulation of clinical policies and protocols to ensure best practices are upheld.
- Direct Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive, person-centered healthcare services, including assessments and education for clients with complex health needs.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, particularly with individuals facing substance use challenges.
- Experience in healthcare education and program development is essential.
- Strong understanding of harm reduction principles and a commitment to social justice.
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Capacity to work effectively under pressure and in challenging situations.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse populations, including Indigenous communities, with respect and cultural sensitivity.
This position is vital in promoting the health and well-being of individuals affected by HIV, HCV, and substance use through a compassionate and informed approach to care.
