Regulatory Compliance Supervisor

Position Overview:
This role involves overseeing the Regulatory Compliance Section and is tasked with directing and coordinating all facets of the municipality's regulatory enforcement. This includes ensuring strategic alignment, guiding principles, management commitments, service delivery, adherence to policies, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage performance evaluations and, if necessary, implement disciplinary measures.
2. Develop and enforce policies, procedures, standards, and specifications for Regulatory Compliance programs.
3. Serve as a liaison between the Regulatory Compliance Section and other municipal departments to coordinate and establish programs and objectives related to regulatory enforcement.
Collaboration:
Act as a point of contact with various stakeholders, including government agencies, property owners, consultants, and community associations regarding compliance matters.
Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive written and oral reports in response to inquiries from municipal leadership, committees, senior administration, and the public.
Performance Monitoring:
Establish and track performance targets for the Regulatory Compliance Section.
Strategic Planning:
Work closely with the Division Director and General Manager to set Division priorities and outcomes that align with departmental and corporate business objectives.
Qualifications:
A degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Candidates should possess seven to nine years of progressively responsible experience in public administration, particularly in interpreting, drafting, and enforcing municipal regulations, with at least five years in a supervisory capacity.
Professional Registration:
Must be registered with a relevant professional association, such as the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan, or possess a professional accounting designation.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with the public, industry professionals, and civic officials.
- In-depth knowledge of customer service standards and policies.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a multidisciplinary environment, including conflict resolution and stakeholder collaboration.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities with a successful history of implementing significant organizational improvements.
