Position Overview:

The Privacy and Access Council of Canada (PACC-CCAP) is seeking a dedicated Privacy and Access Analyst to play a vital role within our Information Management division.

Anticipated Salary: $91,202 – $95,761

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements privacy compliance programs, educating internal stakeholders on emerging privacy trends and legislative changes that affect our organization.
  • Collaborates with both internal and external partners on initiatives that involve the management and sharing of information, ensuring the protection of personal data.
  • Works closely with the Privacy Office and relevant stakeholders to define and operationalize privacy protection objectives.
  • Analyzes and formulates organization-wide privacy policies and procedures.
  • Clarifies the organization's approach to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, designing processes and training to ensure centralized tracking and timely responses.
  • Manages and addresses FOI requests, including the necessary redaction of documents.
  • Collaborates with IT security and risk assessment teams to maintain compliance with provincial privacy laws and regulations.
  • Conducts privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and supports ongoing compliance monitoring activities.
  • Responds effectively to privacy breaches, following established incident response protocols.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in privacy and access roles, with a proven record of managing cross-functional privacy projects.
  • Certification as an Information Privacy Professional (CIPM, CIPP/C, or CIPT) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with relevant privacy legislation and standards.
  • Experience in conducting PIAs and developing associated processes.
  • Strong understanding of privacy industry standards and frameworks.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders regarding privacy requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in public sector privacy and FOI roles is a plus.
