T-Net British Columbia is seeking a Senior Privacy Compliance Analyst. This role will involve close collaboration with eHealth and Virtual Health Innovation initiatives, engaging with various stakeholders to provide expert guidance on a wide array of intricate health information privacy matters that are reshaping the eHealth environment. The Senior Privacy Compliance Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to pertinent privacy regulations, specifically the e-Health Act and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a comprehensive assessment of current privacy requirements through active engagement with clients and community stakeholders.
  • Formulate procedures for the electronic health solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational directives, as well as provincial and national privacy standards and regulations.
  • Offer recommendations on customizing privacy policies. Design, implement, and facilitate privacy-related training, resources, and change management for EMR communities.
  • Deliver privacy-related knowledge transfer to project teams and operational staff.
  • Create a Privacy EMR Toolkit/framework encompassing Governance, Accountability, Requirements, Legislation, and Evaluation.
  • Lead a Risk Assessment Workshop.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Canadian Health Information Management program and certification from the Canadian Health Information Management Association, or
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of four years of recent and pertinent experience in a Privacy role.
  • Certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) is advantageous.
  • Experience in conducting privacy impact assessments is a plus.
  • Possess technical knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of risk management frameworks and concepts.
  • Exhibit excellent business, analytical, research, presentation, writing, and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing privacy incidents, breaches, and investigations.
  • Knowledge and experience in defining privacy requirements in accordance with privacy legislation.
  • Direct operational-level privacy experience, preferably within the health sector or IT environment, with respect to:
  • e-Health Act
  • Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA)
  • Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)
  • Understanding of the Canadian Standards Association Privacy Code (CSA) and the implications arising from legislation/CSA code on various individuals and organizations managing personal and health information within the healthcare system.

Knowledge Base:

  • Ability to interpret and apply British Columbia's information privacy laws (e-Health Act, Personal Information Protection Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act) along with their respective regulations and related jurisprudence.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and electronic health records.
  • Understanding of health terminology standards.
  • Knowledge of risk countermeasures related to privacy.
  • Awareness of privacy compliance requirements, tools, and measures.
  • Familiarity with privacy-enhancing best practices.
  • Knowledge of records management systems.
  • Understanding of computerized client database systems.
  • Solid comprehension of legislation and trends pertinent to the health service provider sector.
