Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements privacy compliance initiatives, educating internal stakeholders on emerging privacy trends and legislative changes that affect PACC-CCAP.
- Collaborates with both internal and external partners on projects involving the management and sharing of information to ensure the safeguarding of personal data.
- Works closely with the Privacy Office and relevant stakeholders to define and operationalize PACC-CCAP's privacy protection objectives.
- Analyzes and formulates organization-wide privacy policies and procedures.
- Establishes clear processes for handling Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, ensuring they are tracked and addressed appropriately.
- Manages and responds to FOI requests, including the redaction of sensitive information.
- Collaborates with IT security and risk assessment teams to maintain compliance with provincial privacy laws and regulations.
- Conducts privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and supports ongoing compliance monitoring in conjunction with IT security and risk assessment resources.
- Provides timely responses to privacy breaches in accordance with the organization's incident response protocols.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in privacy and information access roles, with a proven ability to manage cross-functional privacy projects.
- Certification as an Information Privacy Professional (CIPM, CIPP/C, or CIPT) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with BC's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Health Professions Act.
- Experience in conducting PIAs and developing associated processes.
- Knowledge of privacy industry standards and regulations, along with experience in relevant frameworks.
- Background in privacy-focused projects, such as Privacy-by-Design and privacy-enhancing technologies.
- Ability to effectively communicate privacy requirements and processes to various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in a public body related to privacy and FOI is a plus.
- Understanding of diversity, inclusion, and cultural humility in healthcare is beneficial.
