Job Title: Senior Technical Officer - Trades

Join the Government of Nunavut as a Senior Technical Officer - Trades and contribute to the development of Nunavut's housing infrastructure.

About the Role

The Senior Technical Officer - Trades will work with a team of technical professionals to provide design solutions, cost confirmation, project analysis, and studies to ensure the lowest capital cost possible for capital projects and operations/maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and project management advice and guidance to district project management teams, district maintenance management teams, and program departments.
  • Review and provide detailed scopes of work and associated construction documents for maintenance and capital projects.
  • Operate in a complex building environment, solving technical and functional issues, evaluating problems with building components, and providing consultative advice.
  • Consider multi-dimensional aspects of programs and facilities, including technical, functional, energy management, operation maintenance, fiscal, and client issues.
Requirements
  • Recognized trades certificate in a related discipline.
  • 6 years' experience with housing design and construction, along with 2 years of Project Management experience.
  • Experience working in cold climate construction and knowledge of Auto Cad are considered assets.
