The Metals & Mining Deep Sector Strategy at FactSet focuses on delivering essential data and insights to a clientele of mining experts and analysts within investment banks, investment funds, wealth management, and mining corporations, including both producers and exploration & development entities.

Your Role:

As we expand our Deep Sector initiative, FactSet is seeking a Research Lead for Metals & Mining to enhance our product offerings in this domain. The Metals & Mining team is tasked with the development and production of products and analyses tailored to our key user demographics in the mining sector.

In this position, you will report directly to the Head of Metals & Mining. Your responsibilities will encompass content and product management, along with oversight of specific sub-sectors and focus metals. A solid understanding of detailed mining datasets and modeling fundamentals is essential, as is the capability to develop and supervise the creation and delivery of products. You will be instrumental in driving idea generation, research, and thought leadership content within the Metals & Mining sector.

  • Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to streamline data collection, research, and analytics for Metals & Mining.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis, constructing quantitative models that illustrate the value of FactSet's Metals & Mining offerings.
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives related to Metals & Mining, both internally and in client interactions.
  • Work closely with other product leaders and thought leadership teams to create cross-sector content.
  • Engage directly with clients, particularly high-value clients, to present research findings and gather feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in mining engineering or geology.
  • Background in mining or resource sectors.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Metals & Mining industry and capital markets.
  • Experience in product and content development and management.
  • Strong quantitative skills coupled with qualitative reasoning.
  • Deep understanding of client workflows and FactSet's client types.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning, and project management abilities.
  • Outstanding collaboration, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a comprehensive perspective.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
