Product and Research Strategist – Mining Industry

The Metals & Mining Deep Sector Strategy at FactSet focuses on delivering vital data and analysis to our clientele of mining specialists and analysts within investment banks, investment funds, wealth management, and mining corporations, including both production and exploration & development firms.

Your Responsibilities:

As we expand our Deep Sector initiative, FactSet seeks a Product/Research Manager for Metals & Mining to enhance our product offerings in this domain. The Metals & Mining team is tasked with the development and delivery of products and analyses that cater to FactSet's primary user groups in the mining sector.

In this role, you will report to the Head of Metals & Mining and will be responsible for content and product management across designated sub-sectors and key metals. You should possess a deep understanding of detailed mining datasets, modeling fundamentals, and have the capability to oversee the creation and delivery of products. You will drive and nurture idea generation, research, and thought leadership within the Metals & Mining sector.

  • Collaborate with various internal and external experts to synchronize data collection, research, and analytics related to Metals & Mining.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis while developing quantitative models that showcase the value of FactSet's Metals & Mining content.
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives related to Metals & Mining for both internal and client-facing audiences.
  • Work closely with other product leaders and thought leadership teams to create cross-sector content.
  • Engage directly with clients, particularly high-value ones, to present research findings and gather feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in mining engineering or geology.
  • Background in mining/resources.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Metals & Mining sector and capital markets.
  • Experience in product and content development and management.
  • Strong quantitative skills paired with qualitative reasoning.
  • Comprehensive understanding of client workflows and FactSet client types.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning, and project management abilities.
  • Outstanding collaboration, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a holistic perspective.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
