Job Summary:

Gentek, a leading manufacturer and distributor of exterior home improvement products, is seeking a Regional Sales Director to lead our Central region (Ontario and Winnipeg). As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth and achieving sales targets through direct management of a team of outside Sales Representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales Planning: Assist in establishing annual sales plans and targets by analyzing market trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities. Develop and implement aggressive yet manageable growth strategies.
  • Customer Engagement: Foster strong relationships with customers, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution. Stay connected to the market and be prepared to handle escalated issues.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data from Salesforce and BAP to inform sales strategies and prioritize activities. Take action to react to sales indicators and adjust priorities accordingly.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate opportunities and challenges with the sales team, company leaders, and functional area leaders.
  • Sales Operational Excellence: Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies related to sales processes. Continuously review and apply best practices to establish high-performance standards.
  • Employee Performance Management: Directly manage Sales Representatives to ensure alignment with sales targets. Establish individual performance goals, hire and train new reps, and complete timely employee evaluations.
  • Leadership and Development: Coach and enable Sales Representatives through mentorship and leadership. Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging skill development and achievement of goals.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of sales success, with sales management experience preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the building products industry and sales cycle activities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and AS 400. Post-secondary education in business or management related field preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

  • Perceptual Speed: Recognize detail, including error/accuracy.
  • Numeracy: Comfort with quantitative concepts, handling numbers.
  • Dexterity: Ability to drive, answer phone, use computer, etc.
