Position Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Security Operations, the Manager of Threat Vulnerability Management serves as a key expert in vulnerability management standards, methodologies, and technologies. This role is pivotal in the acquisition and implementation of enterprise-level vulnerability management tools and the development and maintenance of policies and processes for the effective operation of an enterprise vulnerability management program.

Key Responsibilities:

Vulnerability Management Leadership:

  • Oversee internal vulnerability and compliance scanning and assessment activities across various environments, technologies, systems, and applications.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external threat intelligence partners to enhance cyber event monitoring and reporting, providing subject matter expertise to the Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC) regarding Vulnerability Assessment and Management.
  • Enhance the overall security posture of LifeLabs by creating and implementing procedures to address identified deficiencies.
  • Monitor threat intelligence sources to assess potential risks to the organization and its information assets.
  • Analyze operational events and trends related to current and emerging threats, offering strategic recommendations to mitigate these risks.
  • Identify and report on technical vulnerabilities across all LifeLabs networks.
  • Advise on active alert configurations for early warning of potential security incidents based on risk assessments.
  • Evaluate potential threats through the vulnerability management system and analyze their implications for the organization.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of system security logs.
  • Develop and implement performance management and monitoring activities.
  • Support the Cyber Program through various tasks.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management:

  • Proactively inform relevant teams of security vulnerabilities, prioritizing analysis and notifications based on associated risks and business context.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings on IT Security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Coordinate with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and SOC teams to prioritize and mitigate risks to LifeLabs.
  • Provide insights on enhancing the Vulnerability Management Program.
  • Mentor junior analysts in Vulnerability Assessment, Risk Prioritization, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Over 7 years of experience in Threat and Vulnerability Management.
  • Possession of certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, OSCP, CEH, GWAPT, CRISC, or CISA.
  • In-depth knowledge of information security and vulnerability management practices, trends, and relevant legislation.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders, demonstrating maturity and discretion.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in report writing.
  • Experience in dynamic environments, capable of adapting to changing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and engage with various organizational levels.
  • Experience with Vulnerability Management solutions such as Qualys and Tenable, along with a solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of networking concepts and core security technologies.
  • Familiarity with privacy legislation and standards.
  • Recent experience with Windows desktop and server technologies in a large IT environment.
  • Broad expertise in Information Security principles across infrastructure and applications.
  • Experience in vulnerability management and patching across various operating systems and applications.

The hiring range for this role is competitive, with final salary recommendations based on experience, education, market conditions, and internal equity.
