Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada CIBC - Indigenous Recruitment Full time

About the Role

This job posting has been developed by Kiinago Biinoogi Muskiiki ('Our Children's Medicine' in English) in collaboration with Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members. This platform offers a unique opportunity for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit job seekers to present their authentic selves to potential employers, showcasing their lived experiences and transferable skills.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Personal and Business Banking team, you will operate in a dynamic Banking Centre environment where you can significantly impact our clients' financial journeys. In your role as a Financial Services Representative, you will cultivate essential relationships with clients, comprehend their financial aspirations, deliver personalized service, and recommend suitable products and solutions to support their financial achievements. Flexibility to work during banking centre hours, including evenings and weekends, is required. To enhance client experiences, you may be expected to work at various banking centres within a reasonable travel distance. At CIBC, we foster an environment that allows you to excel in your role, with full-time on-site presence being essential.

Success Factors

  • Client Engagement: Meet with clients to grasp their personal and business objectives, provide guidance on solutions, and create a forward-thinking financial strategy. Utilize your expertise in cash management, credit, investment, and wealth protection to assist clients in achieving their goals.
  • Relationship Development: Participate in marketing and outreach initiatives to demonstrate your commitment to clients and their communities. Expand your network, strengthen existing relationships, and collaborate as a unified team to ensure clients are connected to the appropriate resources and opportunities.
  • Technology Utilization: Become proficient in technology. Share your expertise by introducing clients to our mobile banking applications, enabling them to manage their banking needs more effectively.

What CIBC Provides

At CIBC, your aspirations are our priority. We begin with your strengths and ambitions as an employee and strive to create opportunities that allow you to realize your potential. We aim to offer you a fulfilling career rather than just a paycheck.

  • We aim to recognize you in meaningful, personalized ways, including a competitive salary, incentive pay, banking benefits, a health benefits program, a defined benefit pension plan, an employee share purchase plan, and MomentMakers, our social recognition program.
  • Our workspaces and technological resources will facilitate collaboration among great minds to develop innovative solutions that positively impact our clients.
  • We nurture a culture where you can express your ambitions through initiatives like Purpose Day; a paid day off dedicated to your growth and development.

Qualifications
  • You prioritize our clients. You engage with intention to identify the right solutions and go above and beyond because it is the right thing to do.
  • You are goal-oriented. You are driven by achieving your objectives and delivering your best to make a meaningful impact.
  • You understand the importance of details. You notice aspects that others may overlook, and your critical thinking skills inform your decision-making.
  • You are passionate about people. You find significance in relationships and surround yourself with a diverse network of partners. You build trust through respect and authenticity.
  • You have a thirst for knowledge. You are eager to expand your understanding, recognizing that there are no limits to what you can achieve.
  • You are a certified professional. You hold current accreditation and maintain good standing with a Mutual Funds License (Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada).
  • You can demonstrate at least one year of experience working with clients and achieving sales results. Previous banking experience in a similar role is an asset.
  • Your values are important to you. You bring your authentic self to work and embody our values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.

At CIBC, we are dedicated to helping our clients, employees, and shareholders achieve what matters most to them. Our ability to create value for all CIBC stakeholders is rooted in a business culture founded on shared values: Trust, Teamwork, and Accountability. Joining CIBC means becoming part of a work environment committed to our clients, employees, and communities—a place where you can thrive.
