The National Research Council Canada (NRC) is seeking a Technical Translator or Translator-Editor to join our team at the Centre for Construction Research. We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual who can translate complex technical documents from English to French.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate technical documents, including codes, standards, and guidelines, from English to French
  • Review and edit translations to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Use terminology management tools and translation memory software to ensure consistency and quality
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other translators to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Meet tight deadlines and work under pressure to deliver high-quality translations

Requirements

  • Degree in Translation or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in technical translation
  • Excellent knowledge of English and French languages
  • Strong understanding of technical terminology and concepts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
