Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Technician to join our team in our St. Catharines office. As an Accounting Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing compilation engagements for clients across various business sectors
  • Assisting clients with bank reconciliations, HST, and other monthly bookkeeping tasks as required
  • Preparing personal, trust, and corporate tax returns
  • Assisting in the preparation of audit and review engagement files, as needed

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Post-secondary education, with a focus on accounting preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in a public accounting firm preferred
  • Bookkeeping experience
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks (Online and Desktop) is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with Caseware, CaseView, and Taxprep

This role requires strong bookkeeping skills, with a focus on year-end preparation and file work.
