About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Dispatch Coordinator to join our team at Rio Tinto's Diavik Diamond Mine. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of winter road trucks, processing paperwork, and ensuring the smooth operation of our winter road logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the movement of winter road trucks, including directing drivers to designated areas and ensuring timely departures and arrivals.
  • Process all inbound and outbound winter road paperwork, including trip tickets and carrier documents.
  • Monitor and record data into our JVWRS tracking system to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Provide information to warehouse shift supervisors, support services, contractors, and carriers to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Work closely with Field Marshalls and support services to coordinate truck/freight movement and ensure efficient logistics operations.
  • Ensure that clear, accurate, and timely reporting is achieved and maintained, including incident reporting and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or higher.
  • Minimum 2 years' administrative experience with a demonstrated advancement of responsibility.
  • Experience using a 2-way radio.
  • Good computer skills with a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A strong commitment to safety and a proven track record of promoting a safe work environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral, written, and active listening skills.
  • Ability to work in high-stress situations and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity, with a dedication to promoting a respectful and inclusive work environment.
