Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dispatch Coordinator to join our team at the Diavik Diamond Mine. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of winter road trucks, processing paperwork, and ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the movement of winter road trucks, including scheduling and dispatching drivers.
- Process all inbound and outbound winter road paperwork, including trip tickets and carrier documents.
- Monitor and record data into the JVWRS tracking system.
- Notify support services and warehouse of incoming freight.
- Provide information to warehouse shift supervisors, support services, contractors, and carriers.
- Ensure that clear, accurate, and timely reporting is achieved and maintained.
- Work and promote safety within the winter road environment.
Requirements
- Grade 12 education or higher.
- Minimum 2 years' administrative experience with a demonstrated advancement of responsibility.
- Experience using a 2-way radio.
- Good computer skills with a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A strong commitment to safety.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently in a results-oriented environment.
- Excellent oral, written, and active listening skills.
- Ability to work in high-stress situations and resolve issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability and experience to work effectively with people from different cultures.
- Possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Demonstrates a dedication to the company and the position and be committed to positive health, safety, environment, and quality practices.
