We are currently looking for a local resident to fill the role of Expeditor / Shop Assistant at our facility. This position is available immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Management: Disassemble, test, clean, reassemble, and repack various equipment such as diesel stoves, tents, and appliances. Experience with camp equipment is advantageous.
  • Daily interaction with suppliers to expedite outstanding purchase orders, ensuring information is current and accurate.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, addressing any discrepancies such as shortages or delays with the buyer.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for all inbound and outbound freight to ensure accountability.
  • Meet client requirements by efficiently expediting materials to job sites.
  • Perform general administrative tasks and labor duties as needed based on project timelines.
  • Promote a safe working environment by ensuring all staff adhere to safety protocols.
  • Assist in the submission of timesheets for all staff operating from the location.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation protocols for all drivers.
  • Support the team in meeting corporate timelines through hands-on assistance.
  • Collaborate with the Buyer to:
    • Ensure inventory and purchasing data is accurate, accessible, and up-to-date.
    • Review purchase requisitions to confirm stock levels and clarify order details prior to freight pick-up.
  • Run errands as required.
  • Work alongside the Yard Manager to:
    • Assist with loading and unloading trailers.
    • Maintain yard cleanliness and organization.

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in an expeditor role.
  • Experience in trades (Carpentry, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, etc.) is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in purchasing and data entry.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in warehouse, transportation, or retail sectors.
  • Reliability and physical capability to meet job demands.
  • Flexible schedule, with availability for occasional weekends or evenings.

Preferred Licensing & Certifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Level 1 First Aid Certification or equivalent.
  • WHMIS 2015 certification.
  • Forklift certification is an asset.
  • Experience in building or trades is beneficial.
  • Experience in camp settings is a plus.
