Position Overview:

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the claims department to effectively address equipment malfunctions, product challenges, and chemical contamination issues.
  • Partner with both internal and external specialists, evaluators, and construction professionals.
  • Apply your knowledge in material characterization and fractography methodologies.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to identify the root causes of failures through scientific research and analysis.
  • Perform on-site assessments to document damages and gather pertinent samples.
  • Oversee laboratory samples and associated responsibilities.
  • Engage with insured parties to gather insights regarding their claims.
  • Compile findings and deliver expert assessments on potential causes of damage.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Quebec and Canada.

Your Qualifications:

  • A university degree in chemical engineering, materials science, or chemistry, or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in material failure analysis or characterization.
  • Proficiency with material characterization instruments such as electron and optical microscopy, and infrared spectroscopy.
  • A solid understanding of corrosion processes.
  • Experience in the insurance sector and serving as an expert witness in legal settings is advantageous.
  • Registration with a professional order relevant to your field is required.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information.
  • A demonstrated ability to innovate, adapt, and collaborate to meet objectives.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is essential.
